Society With a Vision (SWV) is a Ugandan based Christian Humanitarian Social Services organisation founded in May 2016 and incorporated in September 2016. Our areas of focus are on Christian Outreach, Social Services and rapid humanitarian emergency response. We are committed to creating self-driven sustainable societies that believes in themselves as agents of change. We believe in a world where there is no luck and human rights respected. We want empower societies to actively engage in their own development. We advance the kingdom of God in collaboration with local churches, communities and other organisations.

Our Business

At Society With a Vision we deliver programmes that address the priorities of the target population as designed by them for themselves. We use the participatory planning approaches to enable communities identify issues in their communities and resources they can use to address those issues. In circumstances where communities are under resourced we help raise the extra required resources. In every community there are always resource gaps and this is where you can come in with your contribution to support these communities.

Who We Are

Our programmes are delivered by highly experienced qualified committed team members with unquestionable integrity. Our team of volunteers carry out an immense role to ensure our programmes reach the most vulnerable.

We are proud of our seven member Board of Directors who have different leadership and technical expertise at local and international levels. Two priest from different religious denominations makes us interdenominational to deliver our programmes to all people irrespective of your religious affiliation.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Peter Etabu is Founder and CEO of Society With a Vision (SWV) a Ugandan based charity. Before founding SWV he has had experience working with local and international charities in Uganda. He has up to 8 years Country Manager experience and 2 years as Country Director in the non-profit sector with a record of success in getting initiatives off the ground and flourishing. Other positons that Peter has held in the non-profit sector includes Regional Policy Analyst, Regional Programme Officer, HIV/AIDS Coordinator and Community Development worker. His experience is backed with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lincoln University, USA and MBA from Assam Don Bosco University, India.

Executive Chair of the Board

Professor Willy Nkamuhebwa is the Executive Director of AIDTS/Development Studies Centre; he is a Professor of Development at Bishop Stuart University Faculty of Business and Development Studies. Professor Willy has conducted a series of local and international trainings as well as consultancies. He has a very rich educational background with a Phd in Organisational Development and an Msc in Training and Human Resource Development from the following Universities: Makerere University, Leicester University – UK, St. Clements University – Adelaide Australia.

Akello Esther Ruth is a chartered accountant and a Certified Forensic Investigation Professional with over 25 years’ experience in senior Management position specialising in multi donor reporting for USAID, EU, DFID, Post Code Lottery, Comic Relief funded organisations of £ 1m per annum.

In addition she has led the Treasury function as a Board member of faith based organizations , Pentecostal Assemblies of God -Uganda, Gods Fortress Ministries; Destiny Community Development Initiatives This I ably undertook using SUN Systems; and Quick books in a restricted and unrestricted grant management framework.

All business activities are in the space of Children and women Rights with the ability to adapt to many different environments. Akello Esther Ruth appreciates the impact of lack of good financial management in people that results in poor health and low productivity and hence a viscous circle of poverty.

Advisory Board

David is the Founder of Educate 2 Live a UK charity that supports Let Hope Arise Africe in Uganda and has held senior management roles in UK schools, community education and colleges.

During his career he has run an international coaching and mentoring company DLAssociates and travelled to Africa serving on the international board of Medair and as Chair and International Director of African Revival.

David has a heart for east Africa, especially wanting to support authentic leadership development. His quest is especially to strengthen girls leadership opportunities.
